Political analysts and enthusiasts have let their imaginations roam free as to whatever political seat Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli is eyeing come 2027, with a larger section hastily concluding that it must be the Kitui Central MP, owing to his origins.
I have done my analysis on this man Dr Kyalo Muli and there is no way he will be satisfied with a Constituency seat.
I have keenly followed his steps from Kitui County Assembly Speaker candidature, to Kyalo kya Maendeeo, and now National Patron of Anzauni Clan; having walked most of this journey with him as his communications officer.
From my ardent observations, you don’t need all that if all you are interested is a Constituency seat. Constituency politics are rather restricted to a tight geographical region, and not the larger Ukambani community.
A few months ago I was almost sure he was going for the Governor seat, until he had a handshake with Governor Malombe. This means his eyes are not on Governor seat and therefore most definitely set on the Senate.
Dr. Kyalo is definitely a student of Paul Ngei and Mulu Mutisya political strategies, that revolved around the axis of uniting the 22 Kamba clans, and that’s a strong force for anyone to waste on a simple constituency seat.
With the impending vacancy for the Senate seat, given that the sitting senator Hon. Enoch Kiio Wambua has already declared interest in the gubernatorial post, then Kyalo will definitely run with the golden opportunity.
It might still be too early to assert this opinion as an irrefutable fact, but all factors are favouring Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli’s senatorial bid. But who knows, he might even run for presidency.
